Hampi - Sadhu (India south)
Hampi is also a the home to several sadhus who are supported by donations from local people and tourists. In Hinduism a sadhu (sanyasi) is a religious ascetic or holy man who left behind all material attachments and who focusses on the spiritual practice of Hinduism. This is one of the turban clad sadhus in Hampi. They wear brightly coloured clothes and they paint their face with white and red patterns.
