Dandeli - Malabar pied hornbill The Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is the second largest park in the state of Karnataka. We stayed on the river banks of the Kali river. This region is home for many hornbills. In the morning we saw many Malabar pied hornbill flying over the river and in the evening a few landed in the trees by the river. The Malabar pied hornbill (Anthracoceros coronatus) is 68 cm long and has an impressive bill with horn. They feed mainly on wild fruits. Stefan Cruysberghs
