Hampi - Sadhu Hampi is also a the home to several sadhus who are supported by donations from local people and tourists. In Hinduism a sadhu (sanyasi) is a religious ascetic or holy man who left behind all material attachments and who focusses on the spiritual practice of Hinduism. They live in ashrams or temples, in simple huts or even in caves and forests.
