The women are famous for covering their hair and body with otjize (mixture of fat and ochre). They use it due to water scarcity and protect themselves from the extremely hot and dry climate as well as against mosquito and insect bites. Traditionally both men and women go topless and wear loincloths made of animal skins. The women also wear a lot of trinkets.<br />
