Samburu - Cheetah In the late afternoon we found a cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) lying under a tree on the savanna plains. We were very lucky during our game drives. In 3 days we encountered 3 cheetahs and some of them were very close to our jeep. This cheetah was resting in the shade and was waiting to go on hunting.<br /> Cheetahs hunt for food during the day and they attack quickly with speed, instead of stalking their prey like lions do. The cheetah is the fastest land animal. It can reach 110 to 120km/h in short bursts covering distances up to 500m.<br /> Stefan Cruysberghs
