In the middle of the Gobi desert at an altitude of 2800m there is a deep and narrow gorge with walls of 200m high called Yolin Am. The valley is named after the bearded vulture, which is called 'yol' in Mongolian. So the name of the gorge is often translated as ‘Vultures's mouth’ or ‘Valley of the vultures’.
