Lower Zambezi - Hippos at sunset (Zambia)
The Zambezi River has the highest density of hippo and Nile crocodiles: 33 hippos and six adult crocodiles per kilometre. Everywhere you can find pods of hippos. They are vegetarian animals and they graze at night. The hippopotamus spends most of the day in or near water.
