During our second game drive in South Luangwa in Zambia we witnessed some extraordinary and unique action. By the riverbanks, we came across a group of crocodiles feasting on an adult male puku (antelope). It seemed the puku had been killed by a leopard during the night, but the leopard had delayed dragging its prey into the bushes. The crocodiles, with their keen sense of smell, had taken over the kill. Watching them tear off and swallow chunks of flesh, twisting their bodies to rip off large pieces of meat, was truly impressive.
