Debre Zeit - African pygmy kingfisher (Ethiopia)

The beautiful African pygmy kingfisher (Ispidina picta) is the smallest member (12cm) of the kingfisher family in Africa. Unlike other kingfishers, this brid does not eat fish. Its main diet consists of insects and sometimes small lizards and frogs.
