Triglav NP - Vršic-pass - Russian chapel (Slovenia)
The Vršic pass at an altitude of 1611 meters is the highest mountain pass in Slovenia. Russian prisoners of war had to built the road between 1914-1916. More than 400 died in an avalanche in March 1916. A Russian chapel stands at the height of the eighth hairpin bend.
