There is always some snow high up in the Cairgnorms National Park. And their you can visit the semi-wild reindeer herd. These reindeer are important for grazing the many grasslands in the mountains. Wild British reindeer had not been found in the landscape for several hundred years. But in 1952 a center was established and reindeer were reintroduced. Today, around 150 reindeer live here, making a sustainable contribution to the landscape of the Scottish Highlands.
