Rothiemurchus - Osprey (Scotland)

Ospreys were hunted to extinction in most of the UK in the late 1800s. Ospreys first returned in 1954 to breed near Loch Garten in Cairngorms National Park. In the meantime, there are already around 250 breeding pairs again. Ospreys eat fish and catch them in spectacular fashion as they dive to lakes and ponds and extend their talons. When they dive they reach a speed of 125 km/h. Afterwards they fly away with their catch.
