The village of Glenfinnan is located on the road between Fort William and Mallaig. This is a very beautiful place where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his banner on August 19, 1745. Many Scottisch clans gathered that day for a final heroic, but ultimately tragic battle against the English. On the banks of the beautiful Loch Shiel stands the 'Lone Highlander' monument in memory of the last Jacobite uprising.
