Lake Naivasha - African fish eagle (Kenya)

We started our trip with a beautiful boat trip on Lake Naivasha. We were able to spot at least 50 African fish eagles. This strong bird of prey lives in pairs at the water's edge of freshwater lakes and rivers. The wingspan is approximately 2m. They mainly pick up fish from just below the surface of the water. These are usually small fish, but even fish weighing 4kg are not safe for these fish eagles.
