Zebras are social animals that live in small groups, called harems. The harems consist of a male with a few females and their young. Occasionally, however, things get heated when young stallions compete for their position. We saw two plain zebras in Soysambu in a fierce fight. Zebra fights consist mainly of biting on the opponents fore or hindleg or neck. The most spectacular was when they stood up on their hind legs to wrestle and bite. Occasionally they kicked with their hind legs, which is the most dangerous to get some serious injuries.
