Solio - Jacksons widowbird (Kenya)

On our walking safari in Solio we were able to spot many Jackson's widowbirds (Euplectes jacksoni) and observe their strange behavior. During the mating season, males develop a very long and wide tail.They live in grassland and the males give an odd display in which they jump straight into the air to attract the females.
