Mont Saint Michel - The bay (Normandy)
Tides are caused by the interaction of the sun and the moon. These phenomena are accentuated in Mont Saint Michel bay. During neap tides the sea doesn't reach the rock but during spring tides the sea reaches the rock after 4 hours and 30 minutes after the start of the rising tide, about every fortnight.
