In 1532 Charles V approved the convertion of the mosque into a cathedral. Afterwards he regretted his decision. Contrary to the fact that it has been a cultural-historical mistake, it is now a fascinating monument with a mix of all kinds of architectural styles (moorisch, baroque, renaissance).
