Photos Canada western
From mid-August 2011 I spent 4 weeks travelling through the states of British Columbia and Alberta in western Canada with friends. In the beautiful Rocky Mountains we did several hikes along snowy mountains, azure blue lakes, rivers, high waterfalls and glaciers. Regulary we spotted wildlife like deer, black bears, squirrels, ... We explored the national parks of Yoho, Banff, Jasper and Mount Robson.
Through Indian territory we drove to the west coast where we took the ferry through the fjords and remote islands of the Inside Passage. On Vancouver Island we explored the rugged beaches and impressive rainforests and took multiple sea trips to observe orcas, whales, sea lions and bald eagles. The highlights were the encounters with grizzly bears during the annual salmon run. It was fantastic to see these magnificent bears catching salmon and eating them .We ended our trip in the cities of Victoria and Vancouver.
