Photos Zambia
In May 2015 my girlfriend Heleen and I experienced 12 wonderful days in Zambia. We made a unique and adventurous two day canoe trip on the Zambezi River near the national parks of Lower Zambezi (Zambia) and Mana Pools (Zimbabwe). We often had to slalom between groups of hippos and some crocodiles. There were a lot of birds like ducks, herons, kingfishers, bee-eaters, plovers, eagles ... We camped on the riverbanks under an impressive starry sky.
Then we went 5 days on safari in South Luangwa, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful national parks in Southern Africa. The Luangwa river and the many lagoons flow through the park and provide a habitat for more than a hundred mammals and 420 bird species. Besides lots of elephants, antelopes, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, ... there is also a high concentration of predators like leopards, hyenas, wild dogs and lions. The game drives and walking safaris were fascinating. We witnessed unique action scenes and were able to shoot wonderful wildlife photographs.
