Hageland - Supermoon at Abbey of Averbode Rise of the supermoon at the church tower of the abbey of Averbode. On Wednesday 18 September 2024 there was no ordinary full moon, but a supermoon. One to three times a year the moon is relatively closer to the earth than normal. Then it looks 7 percent larger than normal and its light is 16 percent brighter. These photos were taken about 1.1 km from the tower with a 600mm lens.<br />
