Tarcoles river - Flying scarlet macaws (Costa Rica)
The scarlet macaw (ara macao) is the most beautiful parrot from Central America. It is a large (81cm), red, yellow and blue parrot which lives in humid tropical forests. Scarlet macaws make very loud and high squawks, squeaks and screams designed to carry many kilometers.
