Lake Chitu - Flamingos Lake Chitu is a Crater Lake, 0.8km2 and 21m deep. Blue green alga provide food for more than 10 000 flamingos throughout the year and the lake has a highly saline nature. The Greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) is the largest species of flamingo. Most of the plumage is pinkish white but the wing coverts are red. Juveniles have a grey color. I tried to make some panning shots of flamingos in flight. Stefan Cruysberghs
