It is estimated that more than 400 brown bears (Ursus arctos) live in the Notranjska region in southwestern Slovenia. Together with 3 other photographers, I installed myself in a hide deep in the forests around 4 pm and waited silently. It had been a few very hot days and soon it started to get darker followed by rain, thunder and hail. This continued for hours and we feared that the bears wouldn't come anymore. Suddenly at 8 pm a mother bear with 3 cubs came closer by to the hut. It was a fantastic sighting. However, it still rained a bit and it was already quite dark.
