In the early morning in Keoladeo national park I was able to shoot some photos of a flying peacock, something I had never witnessed before.
The Indian peafowl is a resident breeder across the Indian subcontinent. The male peacock is predominantly blue with a fan-like crest of wire-like feathers and with a long train made up of elongated covert feathers which bear colourful eyespots. They only fly to escape danger or to jump onto branches to look for a roost for the night. In the morning they fly out of the trees back to the ground.
