The vangas are a group of passerine birds that are endemic to Madagascar and the Comoros. In Madagascar there are 20 species. The vangas are an example of adaptive radiation; they evolved from a single founding population into a variety of birds with different beaks, sizes and colors. The blue vanga (Cyanolanius madagascarinus) is one of them.
